The Lakeview Auxiliary awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Lee Spurlock at its annual Christmas party.
January 2nd, 2007 - Posted in Education, ScholarshipPresenting the award to Spurlock was Sara Frances Hamrick who praised Spurlock for working hard to succeed in his studies.
“We’re all very proud of him,” she said.
The Auxiliary awarded two scholarships this year to an individual entering the healthcare field, but president Julie Hill stated that they will be able to award three scholarships next year thanks to the generosity of their supporters and the hard work their volunteers.
Spurlock is a student at Wallace Community College in Dothan. He is studying in the field of radiology technology and will graduate next August with an Associate degree in applied science with a specialization in radiology technology.
He has already completed an associate’s degree in science.
This is Spurlock’s second scholarship from the Lakeside Auxiliary. He is currently doing clinics at Flowers Hospital.
“I would just like to thank everyone who participated in the fund raiser,” Hill said.
