Scholarship for wards of working journalists

THE Board of Trustees of the Rotary News Trust, Bangalore, have instituted a scholarship for the wards of working journalists, who wish to pursue studies in journalism.

According to the District Governor Rtn Dhian Chand of Rotary International District 3080, each year one scholarship from each district of Rotary in India shall be given to the children of the journalists.

The eligible candidate shall be interviewed at the club level and each club shall recommend one candidate from among the candidates interviewed to the district for the final selection and recommendation.

The candidate needs to be in the age group of 20-30, a graduate of any faculty and should have got admission into a recognised institute of journalism before applying for the scholarship. Rotary News Trust shall pay either Rs 25,000 or the actual annual fee, whichever is less for one year of study in journalism.
