The Elko and Casper, Wyo., branches of Energy Laboratories Inc. presented the Northeastern Nevada Section of the Society of Mining Engineers Scholarship Fund a check for $7,000 at the monthly SME section meeting Friday at the Red Lion Hotel & Casino.

Funding for the donation is derived from a percentage of the overall corporate profits.

These funds are allocated to promote educational opportunities in communities where ELI provides analytical services, company officials said.
