The Pennsylvania Association of Mortgage Brokers will award five qualified local high school and-or Pennsylvania college students the association’s George Hanzimanolis Scholarship Award.

The award was established to recognize outstanding students throughout the state who have demonstrated academic ability as well as a commitment to learning, achievement and community service.

The scholarship assists young students in their pursuit of higher education and their desire to achieve a leadership role after post-secondary graduation.

Each recipient will receive $1,000 and a certificate of recognition. Deadline to submit an application is March 30.

In order to be eligible for this award, the student must:

• Be a student in good standing at his-her current high school or college and must have maintained an overall 2.5 grade point average.

• Have demonstrated exceptional community service through their school, church, and-or employment.

• Be enrolled to attend an accredited post-secondary educational program during the following academic year.

• Be sponsored by a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Mortgage Brokers.
