Scholarship opportunities available now for Fond du Lac

Below is a listing of scholarship opportunities available to local students:

# Altrusa International, Inc. of Fond du Lac: a $1,000 scholarship is available to any graduating senior of Fond du Lac High School, St. Mary’s Springs High School, Winnebago Lutheran Academy or Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac.

Selection is based upon personal qualifications, scholastic achievement and financial need. Completed applications must be postmarked by Friday, March 9.

Applications for the Altrusa International, Inc. scholarship are available in the guidance offices of Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac high schools. More information is available by calling Nancy Lanyi at (920) 921-1907 or e-mailing her at lanyi@fdlpl.org.

# Service League of Fond du Lac: a $1,000 scholarship is available to a non-traditional student residing in Fond du Lac County with plans to attend University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac, Marian College or Moraine Park Technical College.

A non-traditional student is described as one who has had a lapse in post secondary education, as opposed to a student who enters college directly out of high school.

Selection will be based upon the applicant’s residence, financial need and a written personal statement. Selected applicant will need to provide proof of college enrollment showing a minimum of six credits.

Applications are available at the Service League office, 384 N. Main St., Suite No. 4. Completed applications are due by March 31.

# Fond du Lac Artists Association: two, $500 scholarships available to graduating seniors of Fond du Lac High School, St. Mary’s Springs High School, Winnebago Lutheran Academy or Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac.

Applicants must enroll in secondary education relating to the visual arts. Applications are available by writing to FdL Artists Association Scholarship, 727 Florida Ave., North Fond du Lac, 54937. Completed applications are due by March 31.

# Advocating Rights of Citizens with Disabilities (ARC) of Dodge County: a $500 scholarship is available to an individual going into the field of special education.

Applicants should be residents of Dodge County with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Applications for the ARC of Dodge County scholarship are available in the guidance offices of all Dodge County high schools, Mayville, Hartford, Lomira, Horicon, Beaver Dam, Juneau and Waupun.

Completed applications should be mailed to The ARC of Dodge County, P. O. Box 173, Beaver Dam, WI 53916. The applications must be received by April 27 for consideration.

# American Legion Auxiliary: 23 scholarships available valued at $1,000 each. Mothers of applicants must be members of the Auxiliary.

Complete details and the application form are available online at www.amlegionauxwi.org. The various scholarships are available to students pursuing degrees in special education, health care or nursing. Most scholarships require a typed essay with the completed application form and high school grade transcripts.
