The La Cañada Thursday Club announced this week applications are now available for its annual scholarship awards.

One of the main philanthropic projects of this 95-year-old organization is to further the youth of this community in their academic endeavors. Each year, members of the Thursday Club celebrate youth at a May tea meeting by hosting and honoring the recipients of these annual scholarship awards.

All applicants must be U.S. citizens and live within the boundaries of the La Cañada Flintridge postal district (91011).

Scholarships are based on academic achievement, financial need and promise. Applications will be available at the local high schools or by contacting the Thursday Club at 790-1166.
