College scholarship deadlines are fast approaching and the most important one for students associated with Fort Riley, Kan., is no exception.

All educational scholarships offered by various organizations at Fort Riley and by the surrounding community are channeled through the Fort Riley Combined Scholarship Committee.

Fort Riley-affiliated high school seniors, current college and vocational students, and spouses of active, retired or deceased military members submit one three-page application to the committee to be considered for several scholarships offered.

This year’s deadline for fall semester 2007 scholarships is March 10.

Winners will be announced in April.

Last year, committee received more than $10,300 in contributions, which went to five high school seniors, three spouses and five college students.
