ASU offering new accounting scholarship

Dr. Tina Quinn, department chair for Accounting and Law at Arkansas State University, recently announced a new accounting education scholarship, the BKD, LLP Accounting Education Scholarship. BKD, LLP is the largest CPA and advisory firm in Arkansas, one of the 10 largest CPA and advisory firms in the U.S., and the largest independent member firm of Moores Rowland International. The scholarship is for $2,000, payable at $1,000 for fall and $1,000 for spring semesters.

The successful scholarship candidate must be an ASU student working toward the 150-hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam. The recipient will have completed the requirements for a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent undergraduate work with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Eligible candidates will have received unconditional acceptance to or be currently enrolled in the ASU MBA or Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program. To maintain the scholarship, the candidate will remain in good standing in the MAcc or MBA program. The recipient must enroll in and complete a minimum of 9 hours of graduate work per semester, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The Department of Accounting and Law will choose the recipient.
