BSSG scholarship deadline near

The application for the Big Sky State Games Character Counts scholarship is Monday, May 14.

The Character Counts scholarship recognizes the importance of sportsmanship and character in athletics. The scholarship is open to high school juniors (during the 2006-2007 school year) who have participated in the Big Sky State Games.

The Games will offer a $500 scholarship to both an outstanding Montana male and female student athlete who best exemplifies character in athletics, community and school. The scholarship can be used for any secondary education after high school; this includes trade schools and community colleges. The scholarships will be awarded at the 2007 Opening Ceremonies Friday, July 20 at Wendy’s Field at Daylis Stadium in Billings.

Applications are available at high school counselor offices statewide, at the Big Sky State Games office (490 North 31st in Billings) or online at www.bigskygames.org
