Tiskilwa Scholarship Association available
April 15th, 2007 - Posted in Education, ScholarshipThe Tiskilwa Scholarship Association will award a $1,000 grant to a high school graduate living within the boundaries of the former Tiskilwa School District 300 for a period of not less than one year. The purpose of the scholarship is to offer encouragement and support to a community member who wishes to pursue advanced training and/or college-level education as a full-time student.
The grant has recently been expanded to include current high school graduates (Class of 2007) as well as former graduates who are full-time students, with the eligibility requirement based upon residence in the former District 300 at the time of their high school graduation. TSA Board members select the grant recipients on the basis of an applicant’s character as evidenced by community and school service, his/her record of academic achievement indicating success in further studies, and his/her sincerity of effort as evidenced in the application responses.
Applications for this year’s TSA grant may be obtained at the Tiskilwa Public Library or the Princeton High School guidance office. Applications must be sent by certified mail with a return receipt to the TSA. Applications should be mailed to the Tiskilwa Scholarship Association, in care of Helen Kenney, 7885-1725 East St., Tiskilwa, IL 61368, and postmarked no later than April 20. The grant recipient will be notified by mail.
