Grant for Hocking College Energy Institute, Ohio
June 1, 2007 - Posted in College GrantA $1.6 million Economic Development Administration grant to the Hocking College Energy Institute, Ohio has been announced by U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez. The Hocking College Energy Institute will be the lab where technicians in the alternative energy areas of fuel cells, wind and solar power, bio fuels, and hybrid vehicles will train.
The Institute is currently being constructed and is due to open in autumn 2008. This project is the first phase of several building pods and additional sections will be added as needed. It is expected 90 new jobs and $3.4 million in private investment will result from this project, according to Gutierrez.
