The board of trustees of the K.T. Wiedemann Foundation has awarded a $500,000 conditional grant to the Butler Community College Foundation.

The money will go toward building a new cultural arts center on Butler’s El Dorado campus. It’s being paid for through private funding.

In order to receive the money from the Wiedemann Foundation, the college has to raise the rest of the money — $10.5 million.

The arts center will house the college’s dance, vocal and instrumental programs.
