Two Brunei Students Awarded One-Month Scholarship To France

Two Brunei students have both been awarded a month-long scholarship to study at a French university beginning early July 2007. The two French language students of Universiti Brunei Darussalam are Dyg Haziyah bte Hj Awang and Awg Mohammad Salehin bin Hj Basir. The French Embassy and Mr Samuel Gandin – the French lecturer at UBD –selected the students out of ten candidates. The two students will be staying with the Centre Universitaire D’etudes Francaises (CUFF) located in the south of France.

Sponsored by the French Government, the students will undergo an educational programme that runs from July 2-27, followed by a series of cultural experiences from July 28-30.

Visits to famous French places of interest such as the Eiffel tower, Louvre Museum and the like are also part of the activities. The flight to Europe is sponsored by Royal Brunei Airlines.
