College Cost Reduction Act

Legislature passed the College Cost Reduction Act today.
The 18-billion dollar investment will go towards student loan and Pell Grant aid for over five years. It is expected to save students and families thousands of dollars over the typical loan for a four-year-school.
“Last academic year, more than 500,000 students nationwide received a Perkins Loan to help them pay for college,” said Congressman Altmire.
The bill will provide tuition assistance for excellent undergraduate students who agree to teach in public schools.
Taxes will not increase and no new spending will be created.
