FraternityLive Establishes Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) Scholarship

August 21st, 2007 - Posted in Education, Scholarship

FraternityLive today announced that it has instituted a twenty-one thousand dollar endowment to create a Financial Management Scholarship for members of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity. The annual scholarship will award two students, with the goal of facilitating the International Fraternity’s financial leadership and chapter operations.

The endowment was initiated by Kris White, a collegiate member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and creator of FraternityLive, as a means of providing mentorship to his fellow Fraternity brothers. The scholarship will be awarded to two members who demonstrate exemplary leadership skills as well as academic performance. Administered by the Pi Kappa Alpha Education Foundation, the endowment will fund registration and travel expenses for two students to attend the Chapter Executives Conference in Memphis, Tennessee each January. This event allows chapter leaders from across North America to gather and address issues in chapter operations.

George Miller, Director of Development for the Pi Kappa Alpha Educational Foundation offered his gratitude to FraternityLive by stating, “We are grateful to FraternityLive for establishing this scholarship. Because of Kris White’s generosity, two chapter leaders will have the opportunity to attend our premiere leadership event and learn valuable lessons in financial management and recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity for chapter treasurers and rush chairmen.” The Financial Management Scholarship evaluation criteria and application form will soon be available, and may be submitted by any recognized member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. With the establishment of the annual scholarship, FraternityLive hopes to advance financial management and leadership training among the Fraternity’s members in order to create effective chapters.
