Sierra Leone: Western Union On Scholarship Promotions

Pupils whose parents have been collecting or sending money through Union Trust Bank (UTB) and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) courtesy of Western Union qualified for the draws for transactions done between September 24 and October and 23 this year.
Thirty out of the hundreds who sent and received money during the said periods won Le500, 000 each to support their children in school.
Mr. Turay of UTB said Western Union is the most reliable international means of money transfer and that the scholarship promotions are part of its social corporate responsibility.
“UTB started operating the money transfer system in 1995 and was later joined by SCB in 2006. There will also be another promotion for the aged which comes up in December,” he said.
Those who graced the occasion at the Victoria Park won several other consolation prizes.
