LTCC provides opportunity to study abroad, tour Peru
January 8, 2008 - Posted in Study AbroadStudy abroad in Cusco, Peru, this spring with Lake Tahoe Community College. Considered the archaeological capital of the Americas, Cusco is the largest tourist destination in Peru.
Program dates are May 1 through June 29, and the price is $3,995, not including airfare. The price includes single-room accommodations with a host family plus three meals per day and weekly laundry service.
Also included is a five-day trek to Machu Picchu; a tour of the Inti Raymi sun festival with a professional tour guide; half-day guided visits to Koricancha and Santo Domingo complex, the local ruins of Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay; and a Cusco city tour with entrances to the Cathedral and Museo Inka.
Participants choose from courses in Spanish and ecology/environmental science. Students must be 18 or older or a high school graduate and enroll in 12 units. Informational meetings are scheduled Jan. 30 and Feb. 5. The application deadline is Feb. 11.
