Scholarship Available for Women Involved in Agriculture
American Agri-Women, a national coalition of farm, ranch, and agri-business women’s organizations, offers two scholarships for women or their daughters involved in farm, ranch or agribusiness that plan to take courses related to ag leadership, communications, rural sociology or medicine. Applicants should also have knowledge of or work experience in agriculture and show an economic or financial need.
Each $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition. They are provided through the Daughters of American Agriculture Foundation, honoring pioneer women and encouraging present generations to continue ag development.
The Jean Ibendahl Scholarship is for high school graduates and women aged 18-23. The Sister Thomas More Bertels Scholarship is for women who are returning students in agriculture and are 24 years-old or older.
Applications for each scholarship are due post marked by June 1, 2009.
