Larry Mayer Memorial Scholarship deadline, July 1
Students pursuing a career in radiology may apply for the Larry Mayer Memorial Scholarship offered by the Tri-County Hospital Foundation. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to second-year radiology technology students to assist in funding their education. Larry Mayer served as Diagnostic Imaging Department manager at Tri-County Hospital from 1973 until 2000, when he passed away suddenly. The family of Larry Mayer and the Tri-County Hospital Governing Board established the Larry Mayer Memorial Scholarship in 2001, to encourage qualified individuals to pursue a healthcare career in radiology. The Tri-County Hospital Foundation is a private charity established in 1994, by the hospital to attract and administer charitable funds for the benefit of the communities and surrounding areas served by Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. Since May 1997, the Tri-County Hospital Foundation has given more than $172,000 in grants and scholarships. More than $200,000 will be awarded by the end of 2009.
