National Scholarship Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen
The Palmer Lake VFW #3915 is again sponsoring the National Scholarship Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen essay contests.
Voice of Democracy is a ninth to 12th grade essay contest. It requests a written copy and a recorded copy on CD or tape exactly 3 to 5 minutes and submitted to a local VFW. The title to write on is “Does America Still Have Heroes?”
The Patriot Pen theme is “When is the right Time to Honor Our Military Heroes?” This contest is for kids in grades six to eighth and should be 300 to 400 words long.
Students that are home schooled are also eligible.
The deadline to submit entries is Nov. 1.
Dorothy Clarke and Donald Herman are co-chairs at Post #3915 on these programs.
