Rotarians present scholarship awards

The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater recently held its annual scholarship awards luncheon at the Bridgewater Manor.
Eight students from local schools were awarded scholarships totaling $15,000.
One student from each of the four high schools in the area received a scholarship based on scholastic ability, service to school, service to community and need.

Tennessee Center for Nursing meets scholarship goal

Tennessee’s Graduate Nursing Loan Forgiveness Program has reached its $1.4 million goal to fund nursing education in Tennessee.
The money was raised through public and private contributions by health care organizations across the state.

SAF Overseas Scholarship awarded to six officer cadets

SINGAPORE: There were six recipients for this year’s Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship.
Officer cadets from the Army swept four of the six awards.

College is becoming more affordable for students with loans.
Legislature passed the College Cost Reduction Act today.
The 18-billion dollar investment will go towards student loan and Pell Grant aid for over five years. It is expected to save students and families thousands of dollars over the typical loan for a four-year-school.
