Rotary Club establishes Athens State scholarship

ATHENS — The Athens Rotary Club established a scholarship to assist students attending Athens State University.
The club completed a $10,000 endowed schol-arship when it presented University President Jerry Bartlett a check for $4,000.
The scholarship will be awarded through the Athens State University Foundation. The club’s scholarship committee will select the student.

Foundation creates Adams scholarship

The University of Georgia Arch Foundation has established a scholarship fund to help UGA students study in other countries in honor of university President Michael Adams and his wife, Mary, both strong proponents of international education.
The foundation created the fund in recognition of the 10-year anniversary of Michael Adams appointment as UGA president.

New scholarship created in memory of wreck victim

A new scholarship at a Valley university will make sure the memory of a man killed in a crash will live on.
Jerry Camp died in October when the van he was driving collided with a school bus near Athens.
Camp’s family is announcing the scholarship to preserve his memory.
Athens State University will make the award.

Six Nigerian Athletes Get IOC Scholarship

Six Nigerian athletes will begin preparations for the 2008 Beijing Olympics this month on the scholarship of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
